Hello and a very warm welcome to all of you who are taking the courageous step to find a therapist to help you with your concerns. I have a relational approach to how I work with you. That is, the therapeutic relationship we form is based on working in partnership together. We are both experts, you are the expert of you and I have professional expertise. This forms a strong foundation for you to feel empowered and be able to begin to resolve your concerns.
My ethos is that successful counselling comes from a safe and trusting relationship guided by professional principles. I treat all people I meet respectfully, regardless of gender, sexual-orientation, disability, ethnic origin or religion.
I have worked with vulnerable adults for 15 years mainly working with adults who have enduring mental health conditions, on hospital wards or within the mental health community. I have also worked in dementia care; end of life care and with adults with learning disabilities. I have spent the last three years with Kent and Medway NHS trust on a mental health assessment ward, with patients who have become acutely unwell.
You may be experiencing the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, anxiety, depression, relationship breakdowns, trauma, loss, bereavement, low self-esteem, addiction or struggling to cope with situations such as, work, studies or parenthood. I am able to offer counselling, one-to-one, either at my office or video call, by telephone or walk-and-talk sessions.
Therapy can have a really positive effect on your life. You will experience personal growth, healing and learn so much about your unique self.
You are worth investing in.
